One small but important step towards reaching that goal is to switch to the use of carbon neutral steel in their products. The first step to realizing this change was a partnership with SSAB and a pledge to build the first carbon free heat exchanger.

We chose to focus on the problem of steel production and to position Alfa Laval as pioneers together with SSAB. We went with the name Concept Zero to make it clear that this is a concept product. We also chose to frame the green steel transformation as an invisible revolution since the carbon free steel will be identical to todays steel. Just manufactured in a carbon neutral way.
This was further supported by a PR-package containing visual material and editor friendly texts that was distributed to trade press and other relevant media.
